New factories often bring new good things to a community, such as jobs and increased prosperity. However, in my opinion, the benefits of having factory are outweighed by the risks. That is why I oppose the plan to build a factory near my community. I believe that this city would be harmed by a large factory. In particular, a factory may destroy a quality of the air and water in town. Factories bring smog and pollution. In the long run, the environment will be hurt and people’s health will be affected. Having a factory is mot worth that risk. Of course, more jobs will be created by the factory. Our population will grow. To accommodate more workers, more houses and stores will be needed. Do we really want this much growth, so fast? If our town is going to grow, I would prefer slow growth with good planning. I don’t want see rows of cheaply constructed townhouses. Our quality of life must be considered. I believe that this growth will change our city too much. I love my home town because it is a safe, small town. It is also easy to travel here. If we must expand to hold new citizens, the small-town feel will be gone. I would miss that greatly. A factory would be helpful in some ways. However, I feel that dangers are greater than the benefits. I cannot support a plan to build a factory here, and hope that others feel the same way.

- Pollution Air, water, health, Worsen, become worse, deteriorate

+ new jobs

+- new houses and stores will be built small town will expand population will grow

+ solid investments will be made

New factories almost always bring many good things to a community, for example, such as new jobs, increased level of life due to large investments, etc. In my opinion, besides many benefits of having a factory negative impacts could also exists. There are many risks associated with the building of new factory. Factories usually bring pollution; as a result the quality of air can become worse, often water is polluted and people’s health is affected. With the building of a factory, more jobs will be created. New people will come and population of our community will grow. To accommodate new people, new houses will be built. Our town will grow in size and population. For me, this growth could be beneficial to our community. I suppose that solid investments into the infrastructure of our town will be made. In my view, quality of our life will increase and our city will be changed greatly. It seems to me that that this changes would be positive. Thus, I believe that for the most part, building of a new factory would be beneficial in many ways. However, environmental problems must be considered, and may be the threatening to environment outweighs the benefits of having factory.
